2015-16 employee parking permits have been available for purchase online since June 1, 2015.
Permits purchased online are deducted from employee paychecks. Employees eligible for pre-tax deduction of parking fees will automatically receive this benefit.
Red surface lot employee parking permits for 2015-16 are $75 and will expire June 30, 2016. Carpools (2 individuals) may purchase a red surface lot employee parking permit for $30, vanpools (3 or more individuals) may receive a red surface lot employee parking permit at no cost. White remote lot employee parking permits are available at no cost. For 2015-16, only a decal will be provided which should be placed on your existing hangtag. Contact the parking office if you require a replacement hang tag. The color of the validation decal will indicate the parking areas in which the vehicle may park. Parking permits purchased through Online Parking Permits are payroll deducted in equal instalments through the year.
Miami University’s parking and transportation services office will begin selling student parking permits on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. Online permit sales will also be available at that time. See the table below for permit prices.
Please review the parking regulations and map for changes to parking areas and restriction times from previous years. Students living off campus are now eligible to purchase holding lot (yellow) parking permits, giving them 24-hour access to the Chestnut Fields, West Millett and Ditmer parking lots. Students may still pay hourly rates to park in the North Campus or Campus Avenue garages. Parking garage rates remain at $1 for the first hour and $0.50 for each additional hour in the Campus Avenue Garage (south garage) and $1.50 for the first hour and $1 for each additional hour in the Academic Parking Structure (north garage); no permit is required to park in garages on an hourly basis. Students are encouraged to use the Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) system for transportation around campus and the city of Oxford to reduce vehicle traffic that leads to congestion and pedestrian safety issues.
Student surface lot (blue) parking permits, student holding lot (yellow) parking permits and overnight parking garage access are available for purchase based on qualifications. Students wishing to purchase overnight parking garage access will also need to have a valid parking permit. These options will be shown as a combination in the online parking system.
Please note that the permits you are eligible for are determined by your class standing and address information in Banner. If your home or local address information is not current, you should update that information in BannerWeb before registering for a parking permit.
To register a student vehicle, use the Online Parking Services system on the parking website at www.muohio.edu/parking. Click the “Online Parking Services” icon on the right margin of the page and follow the instructions to purchase your permit. If the permit you wish to purchase is not shown, you may appeal to the parking office for parking privileges due to an exceptional transportation need by submitting an application form. Only online submissions are accepted.
Student parking permits will be charged to your Bursar account. When your online transaction is complete, you will be given an option to print a temporary permit which serves as a receipt of your transaction and as a valid parking permit for 10 days from the date of your purchase. Students must present their student IDs and pick up their parking permits in person from the parking and transportation services office in 128 Campus Avenue Building.
