Parking Meters
  • The university has parking meters for short-term parking in the following locations:
    • Shriver Center east parking lot
    • Shriver Center west parking lot
    • Oak Street at Bonham House
    • Campus Avenue Garage
    • Wells Hall postal center
  • No parking permit is required to park at a parking meter.
  • Parking meters must be paid during posted enforcement hours, regardless of whether you have a Miami University parking permit or not.
  • Parking meter time limits are enforced. Parking meter time limits at most meters are:
    • Monday-Friday 7am-5pm: 45 minutes
    • Monday-Friday 5pm-10pm: 2 hours
    • Saturday-Sunday 7am-10pm: 2 hours
  • Parking meter time limits at Shriver Center (east and west parking lots) are:
    • Monday-Friday 7am-5pm: 1 hour
    • Monday-Friday 5pm-10pm: 4 hours
    • Saturday-Sunday 7am-10pm: 4 hours
  • Parking meters accept coins, credit and debit cards for payment.
  • The rate is $1.00 per hour ($0.25 per 15 minutes).
  • For longer-term parking, please use one of the University Parking Garages (see below for more information).



University Parking Garages
  • The university has two parking garages. Please direct visitors to the university to these two facilities where they may park without a permit. The hourly rate is $1.00 for the first hour and $.50 for each additional hour with a daily maximum of $10.00. The lost ticket fee is $10.00.
    • The Campus Avenue Garage is located on South Campus Avenue between the Campus Avenue Building and the Recreational Sports Center
    • The North Campus Garage is located underneath the School of Engineering on East High Street with access from Withrow Lane, which runs west off North Patterson Avenue.
  • Overnight parking between 2am-6am is not permitted in either garage except as indicated below.
  • Motorcycles, scooters and bicycles are prohibited because they cannot safely activate the automatic entry and exit gates.
Campus Avenue Garage
  • Faculty and staff with a valid parking permit may purchase a daytime Campus Avenue Garage access card for $300 a year. This access card grants unlimited daytime access to this garage 6am-2am daily EXCEPT when the garage is being sold as an event parking venue. Then you must pay to enter.
  • Students with a valid yellow or blue parking permit may purchase a Campus Avenue Garage overnight permit for $420/semester or $840 for the fall and spring semesters which grants overnight parking privileges and unlimited access to the garage including event parking. When parking overnight, these permit holders must park on levels two and three or the ramp between levels two and three (there is no overnight parking on any other ramp or on levels one and four).
  • Overnight permits must be displayed on all vehicles parked between 2am-6am nightly.
North Campus Garage
  • Faculty and staff with a valid parking permit may purchase a daytime North Campus Garage access card for $300 a year. This access card grants unlimited daytime access to this garage 6am-2am daily EXCEPT when the garage is being sold as an event parking venue. Then you must pay to enter.
  • Students with a valid yellow or blue parking permit may purchase a North Campus Garage overnight permit for $420/semester or $840 for the fall and spring semesters which grants overnight parking privileges and unlimited access to the garage including event parking. When parking overnight, these permit holders must park in the Lower North Area (there is no parking on any other level or ramp).

Parking Garage Vouchers for Departments and Offices
  • Departments and offices on campus may purchase parking garage vouchers for single pre-paid exits from the garages for visitors, guests or department use. The cost is $5 per exit, and the voucher is inserted as payment for the time used in the garage.
  • Complete the web form to submit an order for parking garage vouchers. A department account code must be provided for purchases.

Event Parking
All cars must be removed from all sections of the Millett and Yager parking lots on the dates of all home football games. Cars parked in these areas after the time specified will be cited. The fine is $75. No warning citations will be given.

Garages may be used for event parking for football, speakers, Performing Arts Series, or other sporting events including events at the Recreational Sports Center and Goggin Ice Center. During those times, all persons must pay the event fee to enter UNLESS they have a valid OVERNIGHT permit for that facility clearly displayed. Event parking at garages will be posted on the parking web site at least three days prior to the event. You may also receive notifications via Twitter by following @muparking.

  • Cook Field parking lots are reserved for spectator parking during certain hours on dates of home football games. Signs will be posted indicating dates and removal times.
  • Students who live on campus are encouraged to park their cars in the Ditmer lot to avoid event parking restrictions.
  • RV parking with electrical hookup is available in the West Millett lot. The fee is $50 for a football weekend. Call the Athletic Ticket Office at (513) 529-4295 for information and reservations.

Right-of-Way Requests / Reserved Parking Information
From time to time, events occur on campus that require the exclusive use of parking spaces for the event. A request for the exclusive use of parking spaces must be made to the Parking & Transportation Services office no less than 10 business days before the date of the event using the form below. Applicants must comply with all conditions for right of way requests (conditions are listed in the documents below), and each request is evaluated and approved on a case-by-case basis. Lot clearing/reservation fees are as follows:

1-50 spaces$5 per space
51-99 spaces$4 per space
100-249 spaces$3 per space
250-499 spaces$2 per space
500+ or remote parking lots$1 per space

Severe Weather
During any snow emergency Oxford residents and Miami Students are directed to remove their vehicles from designated snow emergency routes. Vehicles may park in either the Ditmer lot or West Millett 24 hour section during any snow emergency without a university permit. Vehicles without a valid university parking permit must be removed from the campus parking lots once the snow emergency has been lifted.
