Research using Humans as Subjects:
Miami Program Orientation

The goal of this orientation is to assist you with completing your human subjects research protocol applications. CITI online training must be completed before attending MU application training.

The primary researcher (faculty, staff, or student) is required to attend a 75 minute program orientation. This includes faculty advisors for the project. Researchers listed as other personnel on applications only need to complete the CITI online training.

Upcoming Sessions

On the form below, click on the program of interest and upcoming dates/location will be displayed. Some sessions are conducted during and as part of classes. Seating may be limited, you will be notified if there is a conflict.

In person sessions have been suspended for the duration of the social distancing restrictions. It is likely that the sessions will resume mid-summer 2021. Until that time, the requirement for the MU program orientation is being waived. We strongly suggest that student researchers work closely with their faculty advisors and those that are new to the IRB/ethics review process at Miami review the documents included in the covid-19 help packet.

If an individual training session is needed because you have conflicts with the scheduled times, please contact the the Research Ethics & Integrity Program at to check for availability. Please note: we do not schedule individual training sessions within two weeks of the request to allow for others to attend if needed.
