Bio:

Originally from New York, Professor Hegarty has lived, worked or studied in Spain, France, Germany, Mexico and Argentina. At Miami she has led student trips to Antigua, Guatemala and Cartagena, Colombia. Her research focuses on the intersection of aesthetics, politics, culture and industry in Latin American film, specifically Mexican film, and on the transnational exchange between Latin America and Hollywood.
