Jr. RedHawks "Learn to Play Hockey" program

The Jr. RedHawks beginner program is designed to get youngsters comfortable with their ability to fully enjoy the great game of hockey. Basic skating, puck handling and passing skills are developed through fun games and activities. This $95, 8-week instructional session is held on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:15pm beginning January 3, 2014. An additional session is offered March 4, 2014.

The cost for any beginner hockey player can be overwhelming, especially for parents that aren't sure their child will enjoy the sport once involved. FREE equipment usage is available for the beginner program.

Jr. RedHawks "Learn to Play Hockey" program

The Jr. RedHawks Beginner Hockey program is designed to get youngsters comfortable with their ability to fully enjoy the great game of hockey. Basic skating, puck handling and passing skills are developed through fun games and activities.  The program utilizes Miami Varsity Hockey coaches and/or players at each practice session.  This $95, 8-week instructional session is on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:15pm. Fall Session runs October 15 – December 10.  Winter Session runs January 7 – February 25, 2014 and Spring Session runs March 4 – April 22, 2014.

The Mite/House Squirt League season runs from October 15 through March 20, 2014 which will include two practices (Tuesday/Thursday) and one game per week (Saturday), as well as one week of playoffs.  The cost for the entire season is $325.

The cost for any Beginner Hockey player can be overwhelming, especially for parents that aren’t sure their child will enjoy the sport once involved. The beginner league offers FREE equipment usage as well as affordable rental options for the Mite/Squirt leagues.

McDonald's KidsSkate Group Lessons | Ages 3-adult | Goggin Ice Center

McDonald's KidsSkate Group Lessons

McDonald KidsSkateINSTRUCTIONAL ICE SKATING
This Learn to Skate program offers a complete recreational skating opportunity with classes for all ages and abilities. Weekly lessons are taught by highly qualified professional instructors.  6 week sessions are offered throughout the year for just $65. Session I offers classes on Wednesday evenings beginning September 4 through October 9.  It also offers a fun opportunity to skate with Ronald McDonald and play games, win prizes and enjoy tasty treats. This event is held on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:45pm. Session II offers classes on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday beginning October 23, 25 and 26. Session III begins the week of January 15, 2014 and Session IV will begin the week of March 5, 2014.

Private Lesson Instruction
Private lessons are available at the Goggin!  Our professionals provide instruction in Basic Skills, Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Ice Dancing, Synchronized Skating Skills and other areas that are related to skating.  All lessons are given during our freestyle sessions. Skaters that participate in McDonald's KidsSkate or the Jr RedHawks can take booster lessons to help master their basic skating skills.  More advanced skaters that are looking to compete or test will find our staff ready to prepare them.  A current Ice Skating Freestyle Session schedule is located on our website at http://www.ice.muohio.edu/index.php?go=freestyle.  Contact Cassandra Vogel for details at VogelCD@MiamiOH.edu.

 

Freestyle Hockey Sessions
Private lessons are also available for our hockey players!  Open hockey sessions to practice individual skating and stick handling skills are available on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30:6:15pm beginning September 9. Cost is $8.25 per session.  Please note:  this is not a drop-in game session.  Skaters looking to hone their foundational hockey skills in private or semi-private lessons will find these sessions very beneficial to their development.  We have a full staff of highly qualified professionals that include current club hockey players and past collegiate and professional players.  Contact John Mihalik for details or e-mail at MihalijJD@MiamiOH.edu.

Group Lesson Sessions

This Learn to Skate program offers a complete recreational skating opportunity with classes for all ages and abilities.

Summer offers 2 sessions. On Fridays in June and July as well as daily Monday through Thursday for 2 weeks in July.

You may register for as many of these sessions as you wish.

Additional sessions are available throughout the year. Please check the website for exact dates and registration information.

Private Lesson Instruction

Camp Invention

For: students currently in grades K-5

Camp Invention is a week-long day camp for children, focusing on hands-on science learning. It will be housed at Bogan Elementary School in Oxford, Ohio during the week of June 14th. The focus of camp is to inspire creativity and inventive thinking. Camp is fun, exciting, and poses some real world challenges through creative problem solving activities.
