What to do when an employee who reports to you exits the University
There are several ways that an employee may exit the University. As a manager, it is important that you know what to do when this happens.
Resignation with notice
When an employee states that he/she is resigning on a certain date, the manager must complete the Voluntary Resignation form and submit to Human Resources.
Resignation without notice
When an employee stops reporting to work without calling in or without prior notice, the manager must complete the Voluntary Resignation form and contact Employee & Labor Relations at 513-529-4745 immediately. Employee and Labor Relations , will then start the termination process. This may include a formal hearing.
Temporary position ends
When an employee's temporary position ends, whether prior to the original end date or on the documented end date, the manager must complete and submit the Voluntary Resignation form form.
When an employee is to be terminated for cause or as a probationary removal, the manager must contact Employee & Labor Relations at 513-529-4745 as soon as possible for guidance.
When an employee states that he/she is retiring, the manager must complete the Voluntary Resignation form form and submit to Human Resources via fax or email as soon as possible.
