Attending and participating in a national conference in higher education such as a Lilly Conference, AAC&U, or NCORE is a highlight for the members of an FLC. Such a conference can provide an opportunity for learning and new perspectives on higher education beyond those in one’s discipline. It can also provide additional bonding for the community.
If the conference is scheduled during the second term of the FLC, it also may offer the opportunity of preparing and presenting a paper or workshop about what individuals and/or the community have accomplished. The FLC concept is new, and many organizations are interested in the FLC approach to their issues and topics.
