Design A Human-Powered Aircraft

Here is your chance to design a human powered aircraft that you think will win the Kremer prize for human-powered flight. In designing an aircraft, there are hundreds of decisions that must be made. Two of the most important concern the weight of the plane, and the plane's wingspan. Below, you will be asked to choose the approximate weight of your plane. Next, you will be asked to choose the plane's wingspan. When you are done you will see a picture of your airplane, and discover how well your airplane did. In making your decisions, be sure to think about thrust, drag, lift, and gravity. Note that one kilogram is about 2.2 pounds, and one meter is about 3.28 feet. Good luck!
