Afua Addo, a sophomore from Fort Wayne, IN, is a Biology major with a co major in Pre Medicine. Dancing as well as doing gymnastics since the age of 6, she switched to just dance in the 5th grade, but kept up with her gymnastics skills in acro classes. She has been competing with her studio, Kmonique’s Studio of Dance, in contemporary, jazz, modern, ballet, hip hop, production lines and more and often assisted the younger classes and solos in acrobatics, jazz, contemporary, and tap. She danced with her middle and high school dance teams and during her senior year received the state championship title with her trio in the IHSTDQ competition. At Miami she is involved with LSAMP, BSAA, and Bridges Scholars. Afua is thrilled to have joined Dance Theatre!
Izzy Bielamowicz, a junior from Naperville, IL is a Political Science major with minors in both Criminology and Philosophy and Law. Dancing since the age of 2, she competed with Innovation Dance Company for 12 years in jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical and ballet. At Innovation, Izzy was also an assistant teacher, through which she discovered a love for teaching dance to young girls and boys. She was also a member and choreographer of her high school's esteemed Orchesis company. Izzy is very grateful for the relationships she has made with other company members, and is lucky to pursue her love of dance throughout college with Dance Theatre. She is very excited for the upcoming year with the company!
Olivia Bushong, a junior from Westerville, OH is majoring in Chemistry with minors in Nutrition and Mathematics. Dancing since the age of 2, she started competing at 6 and has been trained in classical ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hiphop, contemporary, and lyrical at Straub Dance Center. Nationally ranked at multiple competitions as well as recognized for scholarships in jazz, tap and ballet, Olivia has traveled all over the country to perform for audiences, including a Harlem Globe Trotters game. In her free time Olivia enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and dancing. She is thankful for the opportunity to be apart of such a great company and continue her passion for dance.
Katherine (Katie) Cooper, a sophomore Psychology and Pre-Med major from Mason, OH, has been dancing for 7 years. She began dancing at Mason Dance Center but in recent years has studied with Planet Dance Cincinnati. Trained in many different styles of dance, her favorites are contemporary and hip hop. Katie is extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Dance Theatre and is looking forward to growing as a performer and an artist. Katie isworking at disney this semster.
 Emilee Crowle, a sophomore from Milford, CT, is majoring in Kinesiology. She has been dancing since the age of 3 at Lee Lund Studio of Dance, studying ballet, jazz, tap, modern, theater, lyrical, and contemporary with her favorite styles being modern and contemporary. At Lee Lund, she was an assistant teacher in ballet and theater for 4 years and was awarded the Laura Lund Scholarship which recognizes a dancer with the qualities of dedication, determination, and desire. Outside of dance, Emilee is involved in Phi Sigma Sigma, and she loves spending time with her family and friends. She is extremely grateful to have the opportunity to further explore her love and passion for dance in Dance Theatre.
Marie DeLessio is a sophomore Zoology major at Miami and is starting her second yearas a memer of Dance Theatre. She is from Bettendorf, IA and has been dancing since the age 3. She was the captain of her high school dance team and danced at a competitive studio for 10 years. Marie is so excited for another year at Miami and another dance season with DT! 
Annika Dodrill is a senior Interior Design major and Spanish minor from Austin, TX, and the president of Dance Theatre. Annika is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical/contemporary, and now works for her old dance studio, Synergy Dance, teaching classes and choreographing competition pieces whenever she gets the chance. Dance is so integral to Annika's life and she is so glad that she has found such a welcoming organization on campus to continue developing her technical and creative skills. In addition to dance, Annika has been a figure skater for 11 years and she continues to skate here at Miami with Miami Intercollegiate Club Skating.

Elizabeth Hale is a Junior Biology major with Pre-Medical Studies and Neuroscience co-majors and a Dance minor from Woodstock, GA who trained at a competitive dance studio for 12 years before coming to Miami. Beginning her sophomore year of high school, she was hired as an assistant dance teacher and began teaching young children. Through this Elizabeth found a passion for teaching because it allowed her to share her love of dance with her students. She is incredibly excited to be able to continue dancing in college and grow as a dancer, teacher and choreographer alongside the talented dancers of Dance Theatre! Elizabeth is extremely thankful for the incredible relationships she has developed with the company members of Dance Theatre and is honored to have been elected the Vice President of Dance Theatre for this academic year!

Joanna Hollern, a sophomore from Westerville, OH is majoring in Strategic Communications and Interactive Media Studies. She has been dancing for 16 years and has trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical and acro at Generations Performing Arts Center. Joanna has traveled to many places for dance competitions such as Walt Disney World and New York City. She is extremely excited to be a part of Dance Theatre and looks forward to continue growing as a dancer and performer with the company.
Alexandra Kyle, a sophomore Psychology major from Chicago, IL, has been dancing for 15 years. Growing up in competitive dance, she soon decided to transition her style of training to performance-based. In 2010, she was accepted to train under Terry Fox of Fox Ballet, where she explored and performed ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, tap, and traditional African and Chinese styles. Due to the unfortunate passing of Mr. Fox in 2014, Alex began to work with a variety of instructors in the Chicagoland area including Homer Bryant, William Gill, Nick Pupillo, Kelly Hill, and Hanna Bricston by attending master classes, workshops, and intensives. Outside of dance, she is a sister of Chi Omega, a representative on Associated Student Government, and is pursuing two minors in General Business and Management. Alex is looking forward to growing her movement and personal style through her passion for dance.
Aidan Fultz, a senior Strategic Communications major, minoring in Business and Dance, is from Middletown, OH and began dancing at the age of 3. She trained at the Academy of Dance Arts for 15 years where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, character, and modern. She was also a part of the Middletown High School show choir for 3 years and taught 3-5 year olds ballet and tap at A Step Ahead Dance Studio. Dance has always been an escape for Aidan and it has become a necessity for her to get through college. She plans on soaking in every moment as she approaches her last year in Dance Theatre and she is honored to be able to continue her passion and further her journey as a dancer in college.
  Linda Garza is a freshman Chemical Engineering major from Harrison, OH. She has been dancing since the age of 3 and has received training from several studios in the Cincinnati area. Most recently she studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, and hip hop at Planet Dance Cincinnati as a member of their competitive performance company. With this company, Linda had the opportunity to compete in cities across the United States and perform at a Harlem Globetrotters game. Linda is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Dance Theatre and is looking forward to an amazing first year of dance at Miami University.
Diana Hancock, a senior Interior Design major and Dance minor from Indianapolis, IN, has been dancing since the age of 5. Beginning at Dance Rhythms Ltd, she joined their company, Rhythm N’ Motion, at 8 and stayed until she graduated. Originally trained in tap, jazz, and ballet, she began taking modern and hip-hop classes in high school. Diana performed at many half-time and pre-game shows for the Pacers and Globetrotters as well asfor charity events in several nursing homes across Indianapolis. When she’s not dancing, she enjoys drawing and traveling with her family. She is thrilled to be apart of Dance Theatre and to continue her passion for dance through college.
Matthew Hurtado is a senior Kinesiology major with Nutrition and Philosophy minors from Centerville, OH. Matt has been dancing for 8 years, working previously with Terres Dance Workshop and the Centerville Dance Company. Matt hopes to continue to improve his technique and expand his movement vocabulary, but his main focus is learning how to develop compelling improvisational pieces and to teach and empower his fellow dancers to do the same. "Art is the process of moulding the work in to what it wants to become, not forcing the work to be what you desire it to be."
Erin Lensmeyer, a senior Bio Chemistry major from Port Huron, MI, hopes to become a Pediatrician after medical school. She's been dancing since the age of four, but started competing at the age of seven at Main Street Dance Connection. At 14 she began dancing and competing with Spotlight Dance Works in Chesterfield, MI. Trained in contemporary, jazz, ballet, and tap, her favorite style is contemporary. "I auditioned for Dance Ttheatre because I have a major passion for dance and it's my favorite thing to do after a stressful day. I'm so excited to be a part of such an awesome company."
Ellison Luthy, a senior Psychology major, from Dublin, OH, is very excited to be back dancing after taking almost 2 years off. Dancing with Dublin Dance Centre and Gymnastics, she rained in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, and contemporary, but her favorites are contemporary and jazz. Ellison has had many opportunities to take master classes to expand her dance ability and has performed with the sketch comedy/rock and roll performance group, Shadowbox Live. She is excited to be part of Dance Theatre.
Savannah Mathews is a sophomore Strategic Communications and Psychology major from St. Louis, MO. Dancing for 16 years, she spent the majority of her time at the Center of Creative Arts in their ballet and contemporary company. She has taken master classes and gone to Intensive’s with many professional companies including, Alvin Ailey, ABT, Milwaukee Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet. She is so excited to continue her love of dance for her second year at Miami University and cannot wait to see what the upcoming year holds for Dance Theatre.
Amber McCarnan, a sophomore from Cincinnati, OH, began her training at Next Generation Dance, and later continued at Butler Tech School of the Arts in Hamilton for three years. Dancing since she was five years old, she has trained in all forms of dance, but especially enjoys lyrical and jazz. Aside from her minor in Dance, she also takes pleasure in singing and aspires to be a speech pathologist one day. Dance has always been a passion of Amber’s, and she is eternally grateful for the opportunity to be able to continue that passion of hers with Dance Theatre.
Emily Emily Micsko, a senior Kinesiology major and Dance minor from Sylvania, OH, has been dancing since the age of four.  She trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap, and Pom at Ballet Theatre of Toledo along with competitive dance with some other companies. Emily also was on the varsity dance team at her high school for four years and was an officer the last two. She is so excited to be a part of Dance Theatre so she can grow as a dancer and person and continue her passion for dancing and performing. Emily is the President of Dance Theatre.
Sally Micsko, a junior from Sylvania, OH majoring in Psychology with a Dance minor, has been dancing since the age of 7. She trained in classical ballet and pointe with The Ballet Theatre of Toledo for 10 years, where she was in many performances including The Nutcracker, Aladdin, and Snow White. She also danced competitively for multiple studios in jazz, tap, and musical theatre and competed in jazz, hip hop, and pom as part of her high school’s state champion dance team for 4 years. Sally loves being a part of Dance Theatre and is looking forward to bettering herself as a dancer and performer this year. Sally is the Secretary of Dance Theatre.
Marissa Morris is a junior Finance major with a Pre-Law minor from Columbus, OH. Starting at age 2, she began dancing at Straub Dance Center in Westerville, OH, where she studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop. Marissa also danced competitively for Straub Dance Center, and has traveled all over the country for regional competitions, master classes, and national finals competitions. If she isn't dancing, she is probably watching a Blue Jackets hockey game, which is her favorite pasttime. Besides this, she likes to watch movies and spend time with her friends and family. Marissa is very excited for her third year as a member of Dance Theatre, and cannot wait to see what the year has in store! This year, Marissa is serving as Dance Theatre's Treasurer.
Kendall Nelson is a senior Public Health major from Fishers, IN. She's been dancing since the age of three and is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, and hip hop. She danced competitively with G. Scotten Talent Center for 10 years and was fortunate to have many opportunities to travel across the country attending conventions and performing at locations such as Walt Disney World. Kendall is excited working alongside such talented dancers and is always eager to further develop her passion for dance. She is pleased to join the Excutive Board this year as Vice President.
  Faja Sharp, a freshman from Fairfield , OH, has been training since she was 5, but took a break and later continued at Butler Tech School of the Arts in Hamilton for two years. She has trained in all forms of dance, but lyrical and contemporary are her favorites because she enjoys showing emotion while dancing. By being apart of the Dance Theatre she hopes to increase her technique, flexibility and dance terminology. Dance has always been a passion of Faja’s, and soon she will be the owner of her own dance studio.
  Katie Staffiera, a freshman Middle Childhood Education major from Cincinnati, OH, has been studying dance since the age of 5. She began her training at Gayle McGlaughlin's School of Dance, where she studied ballet, tap, and jazz. At age 12, she moved to The Studio for Dance and expanded her dance studies to include contemporary, lyrical, and clogging. She joined the competitive team at The Studio for Dance and received many opportunities to perform with the Cincinnati Pops as well. Katie is extremely grateful for the chance to be a part of Dance Theatre!
  Abby Stephenson, a freshman Middle Childhood Education major from Mason, OH, has been dancing since she was five. Before coming to Miami, she participated in competitions and annual performances of The Nutcracker with her dance studio, Mason Dance Center. She has trained in jazz, musical theater, contemporary, ballet, and pointe, but contemporary is her favorite style. Abby looks forward to sharing her passion for dance with Dance Theatre and continuing to work on her technique. She is so excited for all of the opportunities that Dance Theatre will provide for her this year and cannot wait to work with such an amazing group of dancers!
Liza Torrence, a senior Art Education major and Interactive Media Studies minor from Beaver, PA, is the President of Dance Theatre. Liza has danced for 18 years in all genres, both at a studio and performing arts center under the direction of her mother, Maria Torrence. She took part in various dance productions and performed in a musical theater group for 5 years, prior to college. Since joining Dance Theatre, Liza has expanded her contemporary vocabulary and feels she has immensely grown as a dancer, performer and choreographer. In Summer 2014 Liza studied at the University of Bohemia in the Czech Republic where she took painting, metals and animation. Liza loves expressing ideas through a multitude of mediums, including dance, fine art and digital art.
MacKenzie Vance, a senior from Columbus, OH, is a Early Childhood Education major with a minor in Special Education. She has danced since the age of 3, starting recreationally at Generations Performing Arts Center, eventually taking on competitive dance at the age of 9. MacKenzie competed in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and contemporary but continues to have a passion for contemporary above the rest. Throughout the years, MacKenzie was able to take part in a variety of dance opportunities such as The Rockette Summer Intensive and Giordano Dance Chicago Summer Intensive, learning from professional dancers such as Randy Skinner and Jamie Goodwin. Through her dancing MacKenzie also landed a job with The Walt Disney World Company as a dancer/performer and was able to dance in the “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Time Parade”. MacKenzie is excited to continue to pursue her passion and love for dance through college with Dance Theatre.

Maddie Welsh a Senior from Dayton, OH has been dancing since the age of 2 and received most of her training at South Dayton School of Dance where she was also a company member from 2009-2015. In addition to her training at South Dayton, Maddie spent her summers attending various summer intensives at Louisville Ballet, BalletMet, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Point Park University, The Rock School and Hubbard Street. After graduation, Maddie plans to continue her dance career and would eventually like to start her own studio. Maddie has very much enjoyed her time with Dance Theatre and is very thankful for the opportunities it has presented to her.

Natalie Zanardelli, a senior from Dublin, OH, is a Math Education major with a Spanish minor. Dancing since the age of 3, she studied ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Natalie participated in competitive dance at her studio in Tennessee and in annual performances at her studio in Dublin, such as The Nutcracker, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid, where she performed lead roles. Outside of Dance Theatre, Natalie is the Treasurer for Phi Sigma Sigma and enjoys hanging out with her friends and lovely Dance Theatre roommates. This year she is the Publicity Chair on the Executive Board and is so excited to work with such talented people.
