Olivia Berthel is a junior Kinesiology major from Columbus, OH. Dancing for nine years at her local dance studio, Dublin Dance Centre, she was trained in ballet, modern, and jazz; her favorite form of dance is modern. Outside of dance, Olivia loves to be outdoors and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She is very excited to contine her journey with Dance Theatre and can't wait to see what the future holds for her dancing career at Miami University.
Izzy Bielamowicz, a sophomore from Naperville, Il, is a Social Justice Studies major with minors in Political Science and Culture, Ethics, and Society. Dancing since the age of 2, she competed with Innovation Dance Company for 12 years in jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical and ballet. At Innovation, Izzy was also an assistant teacher, through which she discovered a love for instilling a passion for dance in young girls and boys. Izzy was also a member and choreographer of her high school's esteemed Orchesis company. After taking almost 2 years off from dancing, Izzy is very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be back in the studio to train, and be back on the stage to perform alongside Dance Theatre!
Olivia Bushong, a sophomore from Westerville, OH is majoring in Chemistry. Dancing since the age of 2, she started competing at 6 and has been trained in classical ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hiphop, contemporary, and lyrical at Straub Dance Center. Nationally ranked at multiple competitions as well as recognized for scholarships in jazz, tap and ballet, Olivia has traveled all over the country to perform for audiences, including a Harlem Globe Trotters game. In her free time Olivia enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and dancing. She is thankful for the opportunity to be apart of such a great company and continue her passion for dance.
Katherine (Katie) Cooper, a sophomore Psychology and Pre-Med major from Mason, OH, has been dancing for 7 years. She began dancing at Mason Dance Center but in recent years has studied with Planet Dance Cincinnati. Trained in many different styles of dance, her favorites are contemporary and hip hop. Katie is extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Dance Theatre and is looking forward to growing as a performer and an artist.
Marie DeLessio, a freshman from Bettendorf, IA, is majoring in Zoology. Dancing since the age of 3, she competed for 9 years and her team went to many regional and national competitions. Marie was captain of her high school dance team for 2 years and they brought home 3 state titles. She has also been involved in multiple musicals including Cats and Suessical. Very passionate about working with people with disabilities, she ran an inclusive dance team at her high school that included individuals of all abilities. “I'm so excited to be a part of Dance Theatre this year and to continue my dance career at Miami.”
Carrie Dobbs, a junior Chemistry major with a Dance minor, is from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL. Carrie began dancing at the age of 4 at Denise Sabala Dance Studios where she competed for 2 years. Also on the performance company, Dance Exchange, where for 5 year she trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, and tap. Carrie has had the opportunity to work with many fabulous choreographers and has also set her own choreography on various groups. Excited to be a member of Dance Theatre, she hopes to improve as a dancer as well as continue her love for dance in college!
Annika Dodrill is a junior Interior Design major from Austin, TX, who trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical/contemporary at Synergy Dance studio for 12 years. As a sophomore in high school, she joined the Westlake Hyline Dance Team and continued her dance career by training there for three more years. In addition to dance, Annika has been a figure skater for 11 years and she continues to skate here at Miami. She is so excited to be a part of Dance Theatre because it allows her to continue to take part in something she loves so much.

Elizabeth Hale, a sophomore Biology major with a Pre-Medical co-major and Dance minor from Woodstock, GA, has danced competitively for 12 years. Trained at Steps Dance Center, she studied jazz, tap, ballet, pointe and contemporary. Traveling all over the country to conventions and intensives, Elizabeth had the opportunity of taking master classes from prestigious dancers and choreographers. Beginning her sophomore year, she was hired as an assistant teacher and taught throughout high school at her sudio. Continuing to share her love of dance with her students, she found a passion for teaching. Elizabeth is incredibly excited to be able to continue dancing in college and grow as a dancer and choreographer alongside the talented dancers of Dance Theatre!

Joanna Hollern, a freshman from Westerville, OH is majoring in Strategic Communications an Interactive Media Studies. She has been dancing for 15 years and has trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical and acro at Generations Performing Arts Center. Joanna has traveldl to many places for dance competitions such as Walt Disney World and New York City. She is extremely excited to be a part of the Dance Theatre and looks forward to growing as a dancer and performer with the company.
Alexandra Kyle, a freshman Psychology major with minors in Sociology of Business and Business Leadership and Management, is from Chicago, IL. Growing up in competitive dance with Aspire Dance Company, she decided to transition her training to performance-based. In 2010, she was accepted to train under Terry Fox of Fox Ballet, where she explored and performed ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, tap, and traditional African and Chinese styles. Due to the unfortunate passing of Mr. Fox in 2014, she began to work with a variety of teachers in the Chicagoland area by attending master classes, workshops, and intensives. Outside of dance, she represents District 1 as an on-campus senator for ASG. Alex is looking forward to growing her movement and personal style in her pursuance of her passion for dance.
Aidan Fultz, a senior Strategic Communications major, minoring in Business and Dance, is from Middletown, OH and began dancing at the age of 3. She trained at the Academy of Dance Arts for 15 years where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, character, and modern. She was also a part of the Middletown High School show choir for 3 years and taught 3-5 year olds ballet and tap at A Step Ahead Dance Studio. Dance has always been an escape for Aidan and it has become a necessity for her to get through college. She plans on soaking in every moment as she approaches her last year in Dance Theatre and she is honored to be able to continue her passion and further her journey as a dancer in college.
Alyssa Gardner is a senior Psychology major from Tiffin, OH and Alyssa the current Vice President of the company. Before attending Miami and dancing with Dance Theatre, she danced with Dance Unlimited in her hometown, focusing on modern and contemporary dance. Besides Dance Theatre, Alyssa is a research assistant in the Psychology Department and works at the Culinary Support Center. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. After graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling.
Diana Hancock, a senior Interior Design major and Dance minor from Indianapolis, IN, has been dancing since the age of 5. Beginning at Dance Rhythms Ltd, she joined their company, Rhythm N’ Motion, at 8 and stayed until she graduated. Originally trained in tap, jazz, and ballet, she began taking modern and hip-hop classes in high school. Diana performed at many half-time and pre-game shows for the Pacers and Globetrotters as well asfor charity events in several nursing homes across Indianapolis. When she’s not dancing, she enjoys drawing and traveling with her family. She is thrilled to be apart of Dance Theatre and to continue her passion for dance through college.
Matthew Hurtado is a senior Kinesiology major with Nutrition and Philosophy minors from Centerville, OH. Matt has been dancing for 8 years, working previously with Terres Dance Workshop and the Centerville Dance Company. Matt hopes to continue to improve his technique and expand his movement vocabulary, but his main focus is learning how to develop compelling improvisational pieces and to teach and empower his fellow dancers to do the same. "Art is the process of moulding the work in to what it wants to become, not forcing the work to be what you desire it to be."
Erin Lensmeyer, a senior Bio Chemistry major from Port Huron, MI, hopes to become a Pediatrician after medical school. She's been dancing since the age of four, but started competing at the age of seven at Main Street Dance Connection. At 14 she began dancing and competing with Spotlight Dance Works in Chesterfield, MI. Trained in contemporary, jazz, ballet, and tap, her favorite style is contemporary. "I auditioned for Dance Ttheatre because I have a major passion for dance and it's my favorite thing to do after a stressful day. I'm so excited to be a part of such an awesome company."
Ellison Luthy, a senior Psychology major, from Dublin, OH, is very excited to be back dancing after taking almost 2 years off. Dancing with Dublin Dance Centre and Gymnastics, she rained in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, and contemporary, but her favorites are contemporary and jazz. Ellison has had many opportunities to take master classes to expand her dance ability and has performed with the sketch comedy/rock and roll performance group, Shadowbox Live. She is excited to be part of Dance Theatre and this year perform the role of Associate Publicity Chair.
Savannah Mathews is a freshman Strategic Communications major from St. Louis, M). Dancing for 15 years, she spent the majority of her time dancing at the Center of Creative Arts in their ballet and contemporary company. She has taken master classes and gone to intensives with many professional companies including, Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet. She is so excited to continue her love of dance through college and become an active member of the extensive Dance Theatre family. Dance is her life, and as the rather nerve-wracking transition into college continues, she cannot wait to shake off all the jitters and leave it on the dance floor.
Emily Emily Micsko, a senior Kinesiology major and Dance minor from Sylvania, OH, has been dancing since the age of four.  She trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap, and Pom at Ballet Theatre of Toledo along with competitive dance with some other companies. Emily also was on the varsity dance team at her high school for four years and was an officer the last two. She is so excited to be a part of Dance Theatre so she can grow as a dancer and person and continue her passion for dancing and performing. Emily is the secretary of Dance Theatre.
Sally Micsko, a sophomore from Sylvania, OH majoring in Kinesiology with a Dance minor, has been dancing since the age of 7. She trained in classical ballet and pointe with The Ballet Theatre of Toledo for 10 years, where she was in many performances including The Nutcracker, Aladdin, and Snow White. She also danced competitively for multiple studios in jazz, tap, and musical theatre and competed in jazz, hip hop, and pom as part of her high school’s state champion dance team for 4 years. Sally is beyond excited to be a part of Dance Theatre and is looking forward to bettering herself as a dancer and performer.
Kathleen (Katie) Moore, a senior from Hamilton, OH, is majoring in Kinesiology and double minoring in Dance and Nutrition. She trained at Next Generation Dance Company where she studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and acro. Katie has worked at King's Island as a dancer for multiple seasons in their entertainment shows and thoroughly enjoyed her work. In her free time, Katie likes to hang out with her friends, shop, watch football, and workout. She hopes to study to become a Child Life Specialist upon graduating from Miami. Katie is sad to be in her last year at Miami but is excited to finish out her senior year with the company.
Marissa Morris is a sophomore Finance major from Columbus, OH. Dancing for 15 years, she studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop at Straub Dance Center. Marissa danced competitively for 8 years, and has traveled all over the country for regional competitions, master classes, and national finals. In her free time she enjoys watching movies, spending time with friends, and online shopping. She is very excited to continue her love of dance with Dance Theatre for a second year!
Kendall Nelson is a senior Public Health major from Fishers, IN. She's been dancing since the age of three and is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, and hip hop. She danced competitively with G. Scotten Talent Center for 10 years and was fortunate to have many opportunities to travel across the country attending conventions and performing at locations such as Walt Disney World. Kendall is excited working alongside such talented dancers and is always eager to further develop her passion for dance. She is pleased to join the Excutive Board this year as Publisity Chair.
Hannah Ralston is a senior Middle Childhood Education major from New Albany, OH. She trained for seventeen years with New Albany Ballet Company, where she was a member of the pre professional division, studying ballet, pointe, jazz, and modern. She enjoyed the experience of competing, both as a soloist and in ensembles, at the Youth America Grand Prix from 2009 to 2013. Outside of dance, she is an active member of her sorority Alpha Omicron Pi, enjoys working out and running, and mentors and tutors students through Adopt a School. Hannah spent the 2015-2016 academic year interning at Walt Disney World as a character atendant in their entertainment department. She is thankful and excited to be back performing with the company for her senior year!
Liza Torrence, a senior Art Education major and Interactive Media Studies minor from Beaver, PA, is the President of Dance Theatre. Liza has danced for 18 years in all genres, both at a studio and performing arts center under the direction of her mother, Maria Torrence. She took part in various dance productions and performed in a musical theater group for 5 years, prior to college. Since joining Dance Theatre, Liza has expanded her contemporary vocabulary and feels she has immensely grown as a dancer, performer and choreographer. In Summer 2014 Liza studied at the University of Bohemia in the Czech Republic where she took painting, metals and animation. Liza loves expressing ideas through a multitude of mediums, including dance, fine art and digital art.
Kristen Tucker is a sophomore Marketing major from Noblesville, IN. After many years of gymnastics training, Kristen transitioned to dance at the age of 12 and fell in love with the art. She danced at the Academy of Dance Arts for 6 years and is trained in ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop. Kristen was also a part of their dance ensemble group, which performed throughout the year, primarily in ballet and modern. When not dancing, she enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with friends and family. Kristen is so excited to be able to continue her passion for dance through Dance Theatre.
MacKenzie Vance, a junior Special Education major and Dance minor from Columbus, OH, has been dancing since she was 3 for Generations Performing Arts Center and began dancing competitively in jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, and hip hop at 8. MacKenzie has had the opportunity to dance at many venues including at Walt Disney World, and in Chicago, and NYC, and has worked with various choreographers and performers such as Jamie Goodwin, Giordano Dance Chicago, The Rockettes, and Randy Skinner. MacKenzie is excited to continue being a part of the Dance Theatre and sharing her passion for dance. She is "on leave" with disney this semester.

Maddie Welsh a junior from Springboro, OH, completed two years of college at The University of Cincinnati berfore transfering to Miami. Majoring in Individualized Studies with minors in Dance and Education, she has been dancing since the age of 3, the majority of her training at South Dayton School of Dance. A member of South Dayton Dance Theater for 7 years, she performed lead roles in The Nutcracker including, Clara, lead Arabian, and The Sugar Plum Fairy. She has also performed in original works by Susie Payne, William B McClellan, Ashley Walton, Terrance Greene, Ruka White, and Shannon Bramham. Maddie also attended several summer intensives at BalletMet, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Hubbard Street, Louisville Ballet, Point Park, and at The Rock. Maddie is extremely grateful for her opportunity to be a part of Dance Theatre and is eager to continue to grow artistically with an amazing group of dancers.

Megan Wise, a senior at Miami Hamilton, graduated from Talawanda High School in Oxford, OH and is a Nursing major. Megan began dancing when she was three years old at Carol Young School of Dance, now known as Next Generation. There she studied tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, tumbling, and hip hop. Megan is thrilled to be apart of the Dance Theatre and is thankful to have an opportunity to continue to grow as a dancer and to work with a wonderful group of dancers.
Natalie Zanardelli, a junior from Dublin, OH, is a Math Education major in the College of Health, Education, and Society. Dancing since the age of 3, she studied ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Natalie participated in competitive dance at her studio in Tennessee and in annual performances at her studio in Dublin, such as The Nutcracker, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid, where she performed lead roles. Natalie is excited to continue being a part of the Dance Theatre.
