CITI Login LInk

(See below for account creation guidance)

This must be completed prior to interacting with any BL2 or rDNA material in association with Miami for anyon acting without the direct supervision (see below) and presence of someone approved to supervise such activity.*

Part 2: Documented Experience -

The PI or staff member ressponsible for safety and containment for the project must provide evidence of experience conducting research with BSL-2 materials (or rDNA). The evidence is typically provided to the IBC through the application process.

Part 3: Faculty Approval -

Either as the PI or Faculty Advisor on protocols, a faculty member through the application, review, and approval process is responsible for assuring the appropriate training in the assigned tasks of persons named on the application. This component of the training is the most important aspect of the training associated with the Miami Animal Care Program.
* “Supervisors” must be listed on an approved protocol. "Direct supervision" means a person trained in the activities is present and able to overseeactivities. For classes, a faculty member or teaching assistant can provide the expertise necessary to assure the proper handling and care by the students. For research, short-term temporary assistants can be supervised by persons listed on the protocol approved for the activity. The PI on the protocol must be aware and approve of the use of persons who have not completed formal training.
