After spending time inland, Dr. Polis decides to head back to shore to see if the puzzling question can be solved elsewhere. As you walk back, the memory of the smashed creature you stepped on comes back. You look at the bottom of your shoe, but you can find no trace of the creature. And you still can't figure out what you stepped on. Some mysteries are easier to solve than others!

When you reach the shoreline, you see swarms of insects around the water. Apparently, they are settling on the seaweed and the dead fish that washed up on shore. The insects are feeding on them. Dr. Polis points out that the strong ocean current you felt earlier must have brought them to the shore. But you still need to track down what the spiders and scorpions eat.

Let's study those spiders and scorpions!
