These Webpages are no longer maintained. We are keeping the pages here to preserve some of the early years of ProjectDragonfly, to honor the students who created the interactives in the early days of the Web, and because many of the activities are fun and people are still using them. For current Project Dragonfly work, go

The ProjectDragonflyteam.

You begin exploring the beach on the island, and you find very few plants. A member of your group screams out! You find that a spider is crawling across your foot! Kicking the spider off your foot, you notice a scorpion to your left. You quickly step backward, only to hear a soft crunch in the sand. You notice the group is continuing, so you try to ignore the sound and run to catch up.

Dr. Polis points out that without any food source these insects, spiders, and scorpions have nothing to eat. You wonder, "Where do they get their food?" Let's first study the insects a little closer and try to figure out what they eat and where they get their food.
